Our History
Founded in 2000 by Seth Allen and Diane Fleming, Distinctive Rental Properties (formerly Allen & Fleming Partnership) began with one historic property in need of some tender loving care. We established our initial presence in downtown Carlisle, Pennsylvania, an historic town of central Pennsylvania with Civil War relevance.

Our Philosophy
We invest in historic buildings that have been forgotten and neglected and need our dedicated care to bring them back to their former glory. We focus our efforts and money on renovating the beautiful historic real estate we invest in to restore the original beauty while updating for modern renting from the inside out. After time, money, and effort, (and sometimes blood, sweat, & tears), we upgrade and restore these beautiful buildings with today's expectations while retaining the historic charm and architecture. We offer our apartments for rent and commercial leases at a reasonable rent. We believe in making affordable housing available to those who seek to enjoy the laid-back, walker-friendly experience of downtown Carlisle, the picturesque Maine Woods cabins on Portage Lake, or the island beauty, tranquility, and food of Crete, Greece. In addition to offering historic rentals at practical prices, we include many utilities so tenants have an accurate idea before move-in of the expenses to be paid throughout the term of the lease without having to worry about the fluctuating costs of major utilities.

We have a website devoted exclusively to our tenants to maximize the enjoyment and ease of renting with us. We are always happy to answer questions ranging from places to buy furniture to places for a good meal and are always in contact with tenants about ongoing projects, repairs, changes, and other important or relevant issues. We yearn to be reasonable and accommodating landlords who develop personal relationships with tenants to better understand their wants, needs, and concerns. We always try to be prompt and understanding in all our dealings, so if there's anything you think we should change or offer, please don't hesitate to let us know. We always have an open line of communication with our tenants. We are available at all hours of the day by call, email, and text. Off the beaten path, these cabins right on the lake are a breathtaking summer getaway or ideally located winter lodges for ice fishing and snow mobiling in the worldwide destination of Aroostook County, Maine.
